New Administrative Board Elected for the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers

The General Assembly of the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers elected a new board for the association, comprising Mr. Tareq Darwazeh as Chairman of the Board - Hikma Pharmaceuticals; Dr. Khaled Harb as Vice Chairman - Dar Al-Dawa Development & Investment Co,; Dr. Abdulmonem Alali as Secretary - Pharma International Co (PIC) Dr. Fadi Al-Atarsh as Treasury - Amman Pharmaceutical Industries Co (API), and Mr. Faisal Sukhtian as a Executive Committee Member United Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Co.

During the 28th of annual ordinary meeting held yesterday, the General Assembly approved the financial statements and the annual report for the previous year and elected the certified legal auditor for the current year.

The General Assembly reviewed the achievements of the association during the year 2023, reaffirming the continued diligent work to implement the association’s strategies and future plans through cooperation among all members and official bodies to serve the national pharmaceutical industry.

The President of the association, Mr.Tareq Drouzah, emphasized the importance of the Jordanian pharmaceutical industry sector in contributing to the national economy by playing a primary role in ensuring pharmaceutical security, reducing the medical bill in the kingdom, providing job opportunities for Jordanians, increasing exports, and expanding the scope of global export markets to reach nearly 80 countries worldwide.

In turn, the Secretary General of the association, Dr. Hanan Sboul, pointed out that the pharmaceutical industry sector is one of the leading industrial sectors within the engines of growth in the economic modernization vision for the next ten years, which focuses on elevating Jordan to become a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing, enhancing research and development, and expanding the biopharmaceutical industry to increase drug exports. She noted that the association works in harmony and full coordination with relevant institutions in both the public and private sectors to achieve this.

Sboul commended the efforts of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration in supporting the pharmaceutical industry sector and adopting many policies that serve national interests, such as expediting the registration of Jordanian drugs, which contributes to enhancing pharmaceutical exports and positively impacting sector development.
